I have been on a thread ("waiting to be matched") on the adoptive parents forum. But I thought it might be nice to start one for those of us that are LDS. We could share experiences, good and bad, good days, bad days (bad weeks), ask questions, whatever we want. It could just be nice to have each others support.
Basically my story is that we started the adoption process with LDSFS over 3 years ago. We do have an almost 8 year old bio daughter who took 2 years to conceive. We were approved Aug. of 2005. After 20 months and 2 failed adoptions we really felt like our kids were not at LDSFS. So we decided to switch to fost/adopt. It took us 6 months to complete paperwork and licensing and we were approved in Jan. 2008. We are now looking for a sibling set of 2 - 3 kids under 6 with at least one under 2. Our agency said we really should not be waiting for more that 6 months. After 6 1/2 years of trying to conceive and 3 years of being in the adoption process, 6 months still seems like a long ways a way. Well, I guess we would be down to about 4 months now. But who really knows when we will get our kids (other than the Lord). So, we are hoping and praying every day that our kids find their way to us very soon.
