OK sooooooo I'm just going to be honest here. I feel old lately. DS is crawling and grabbing and pulling and non-stop moving I mean ALL DAY. The laundry is piling up, i haven't changed the sheets this week on our bed and I collapse at 9:30. I cant' say this phase is more tiring than the early infant stage, it's different. He's just a huge human canon ball now! He was so compact just last month! Heavy but small and now he's heavy and longer and wigglier LOL ugh.
Poor thing is tired and whiney for the first time. The changes in his body are awesome!
I guess if I was 25 and unfit I'd be feeling it too. I'm trying to walk the hills with stroller to get stronger. I was keeping up so well! Why is he so wiggley!!:hissy: Oh and he also arches his back now a lot and tries to undo his harnesses. Fun!
PS I hope it is evident that all this complaining is tongue in cheek....I live for my little canon ball.

Ahh Storm, I so hear you! I'm in my early forties and Kelcee is turning 3 next week. Sometimes I feel like the grandmother instead of the mommy. LOL The changes are great and we just re-adjust to them.
TJ started walking at 9 months..YIKES! He goes nonstop from the minute he wakes up until he falls asleep. Both my husband and I were quite overweight when we adopted him so, I got the lapband in December and have dropped 35 lbs, DH got his three weeks ago and has dropped 18 already!! We are feelling much better, but I am totally EXHAUSTED in the evenings. TJ goes to a home daycare two days a week for about 5 hours each day. Usually it is a lifesaver so I can run errands and clean house but the last few weeks I have had to help my DH in his business so I have had ZERO non baby time the last few weeks. But, like all of you, I wouldn't change one second of the last 20 months. Life is terrific!!!! I'll sleep when he goes to school...
Tanmansmom first of all congrats on the weight! It's funny whenever I look at T's pic I'm thinking "ok there's the one kid that looks like he might give E a run for his money" LOL
Yesterday a toddler sort of bumped into e in music class and E was crying! And it was so weird, it was like seeing a grown man cry because he's so not a cryer. It just touches my heart when he acts like an actual baby and not a linebacker LOL.
I have a mothers helper twice a week for 3 hours at a time in the house but I've not been good about doing things for myself during that time. I usually hang out with them or do laundry and I'm still exhausted.
I want to get a manicure and a pedicure. I haven't had since E was born and I used to get them regularly. I think I should do it today!
Seems like on the days I can't go on I seem to get a break from up above. Like he takes a long nap or he's just a sweetie and happy to play on his own. Stuff like that.
Also, I'm really feeling a lot of emotion for him now that I get some feedback. I guess I'm not such a baby baby person. I'm like a man. I hate to shop and I'm not so into tiny babies!!!! LOL All is good!

Stormster, it seems like if we got the two of them together, there may be bloodshed. He is SUCH a boy! He flirts with girls. At my 17 year old's lacrosse game last week, there was a group of teenage girls sitting together, there were 5 of them. Tanner just walked over and sat down in the middle of them and turned on the charm. They were in love and I actually got to watch Tyler play lacrosse!!!!!
The band has been terrific for us. I actually put on weight during the adoption process since it was so stressful trying to find TJ's bdad and wondering what he would do when we did find him. It's a good thing I like the Atkins Shakes since that is what I have the most of. It's nice to see numbers on the scale I haven't seen in awhile. Well, I have seen them, they were just in a different order
Stormster & cheesehead - It's true!! It's a matter of laughing at all the little things, like when they are playing with and throwing magnets off the fridge over and over again to pick them up and play. Its crawling on your knees to chase the ball, playing peek a boo over the baby gate "that we can hardly lift our legs over at night". It's those countless waking midnight hours of baby dreams, snuggles and hugs to be rocked back to sleep.
:) After just celebrating punkin's 1st birthday with numerous visitors from all sides of the families, along with friends & neighbors I was too worn out too clean, thankfully recruits came to help, princess took her nap after 7pm to awaken wide eyed, bushy tailed from 9-1230am. (definitely a sugar rush and not a usaul pattern) visitors at the house wondered how we keep these kind of hours. We just have too smile, because we know that they grow up so fast, as we celebrate 7 grandchildren and starting all over it just makes it all the more sweeter... So many wonder how we do it, but we say we can do it again and again. Life is truly how we embrace and how we look at it. I have to say keep a good cup of java close by along with some tissues when you need a good cry & a whole lot of prayer... Aches and pains come and go, but the joy of each moment is the memory we are etching in the hearts of our youngins.. I am looking forward to the 50's with a toddler.. Couldn't be better!!!

Okay, so we are at the lake for the holiday weekend. Last year I didn't tube, jet ski or anything because I was so overweight I knew that a) I couldn't get on the darn things and b) if I fell off I would HURT myself. Well, fast forward 7 months and 40 lbs (less) later and I am ready to take on the toys. I tubed and I jet skied. OMG: I HURT!!!! I had to get up in the night to take asprin because I hurt soooo badly and couldn't sleep. Right now, I don't feel 42; I feel 142! I was so pitiful my DH was on baby duty all night since it took me about 15 minutes to ease myself out of bed! BTW: I LOVE IT!!! I did stuff I never thought I would do. It isn't age holding me back, it is my weight. Another 40 lbs and I'll be a trophy wife out there on that boat....NOT, but one can dream. Hope everyone is have a wonderful family weekend and don't forget to thank a vet (and his/her family) for their sacrifice. I'll be calling my FIL later...
Good for you tanman! 40 pounds that is great. I wish I could shed just 10! That would boost my self esteem greatly. Hope your soreness wears off quickly.
I actually went to the dr thinking I had arthiritis or fibermyalgia (not a good speller). I have never hurt like this and been so tired. The dr comes in the room and I brace myself for the results. She pats my leg and says "well here's the diagnoisis, you are out of shape and the 40 year old mother to a one year old who doesn't get quality sleep at night" .

LOL, that is rich startedover. Boy do I know the feeling. No one year olds here, but two 12 yr olds, and 8 yr ld and a 4 yr old is enough at 52.
Oh my Gosh, there are days when at almost 42 I fell like I am 80! But after talking to my friend who is 23, she tells me that she feel the same way I do. This helped me to feel better.
