The cost does have something to do with it, if you have to morgage your house and go deep in debt what good is that? And my lawyer checked into the 25000 and up fees, they were outragous in his words, all going to agency or facilatators not birthmoms. Most newly married couples don't have 25,000 just sitting in the bank do they? Just starting out...couples childless or not shouldnt have fork over quite that much. I realize babies cost to raise but understand we don't all have it up front do we? We open college acct and save as they grow, adopting parents are not all Hollywood types or wealthy, some like me and my DH are middle class working couples who just want to try and have a family without starting out deep in debt. That isnt a reason to get upset. The hail marys i know nothing about, but i pray every day to God for help and patience in our waiting game.

what the hell are you guys doing ??? first someone complains about their hail marys then someone else complains about how much it costs to adopt, first of all, whether you are catholic, or a communist, the child you adopt couldnt care less, they just want good parents, then second, if you think 30,000 is to much, then you have no business adopting a child!! it's gonna cost you a heck of a lot more to raise a child, or are you going to give the child back when your 30,000 dollars is spent????
I think this was a bit harsh on your part. I absolutely agree that if you have to go completely in hock to pay for the adoption, that is discouraging. Why start out in such debt that you can't even breath.
I have enough love in my heart and room in my home, however coming up with an extra $30k to finance an adoption if very hard. I am refinancing my home in order to be able to do an adoption. OF COURSE, it will cost a lot more to raise the child and will be a whole lot more than $30K over the course of the childs life.
