Yes the agency we plan on going with tells us 24-30 months until referral, BUT I count the six months of getting the dossier/approval together as part of the whole wait.
According to the ICBF list (the one that the ADECOP website publishes), the wait time is now approaching about 34 months for the 0-2 age range. The list says they are currently assigning children to people approved in July of 2005. Maybe it will speed up, but I'm trying to be realistic. :) It does look like we will all be waiting a while, and I am just reminding myself often that it will be worth it.
The casas may be moving more quickly right now...I don't know. Maybe some people that are waiting with them can post what their estimates are for you.
I just asked my caseworker about that list and her response was "Last we were told it would be up to 30 months."
Is it possible that list is not accurate?
Or maybe my caseworker is not totally informed?
Well.....
Since the list comes straight from the ICBF, I would think it is pretty accurate, within a month or two (based on how the regional assignments work, someone could receive a referral a little faster). The current version of the list is dated early May, so maybe things have moved a bit.
I think my agency is still telling people 30 months as well. Maybe they know something we don't, like it will speed up at a certain time, but I have been more following the list more than listening to estimates lately. Seems like I am better off thinking we will wait about 3 years and then being surprised if we don't!! :D
Maybe someone else that knows a little more here can help answer you too. Hopefully we all don't have that much longer!!
