I would recommend that you check out the following site to see the agency that was previously Colombia approved that no longer has accreditation by COA.
Adoption Service Providers Denied Hague Convention Accreditation/Approval
This would impact any family using this agency that does not have a current I-171H. If you allowed your I-171H to expire, this will impact you.
If you are with the non-accredited agency, you may want to maintain contact with the agency to see what they will do. An agency that is not accredited cannot do adoptions and therefore will not have a constant source of income for their staff. This may impact whether or not the agency will continue to exist over the length of your adoption process (2-3 years). I would watch this very carefully.
all i can say is WOOOOOW!
weird. anyways, people, be sure to not discuss these agencies, or any others, on this forum. agency discussion must be done via pm only. :) thanks.
thanks for the update!

Hi, I jut wanted to say that the agency we used to adopt Anna has temporarily been denied their Hague accreditation, but it was NOT because of any illegal or unethical findings by the COA. The decision is being appealed, and I have every confidence that our agency will obtain accreditation in the near future. We had a great experience with them.
