For those patiently waiting with ICBF, they just published a new Wait List update on June 10, 2008.
You can see it at the following link on ADECOP's website. ADECOP is the Spanish (as in Spain) adoption site, and they diligently publish the wait list everytime they get a new one. It is a good place to check out every so often.

I just checked this out yesterday and was suprised to see that sibling groups up to age 7 had not changed from last month's update. I'm trying to remember if the list doesn't get updated (changed) for each individual category until every dossier approved from that month has received a referral, correct? So, theoretically, families who have approved dossiers from March/April 08 could be receiving referrals for children in that category, but there remains one family whose dossier was approved in February 08 who has not yet received their referral for any number of reasons (they specified a certain region, or twins of a specific age, etc.). Is this correct?
I just asked our agency this morning to look into getting an update for us since we have the possibility of moving closer to my husband's work, allowing him to reduce his commute time by 1 1/2 hours total each day. However, moving is a big undertaking and we need to reserve our energies for the adoption if it is coming soon. Timing is everything for such a big decision.
The unknown wait is hard...and our wait will likely be shorter than most.

Yes, that is exactly how it works. It also could mean that there are many families left. It's hard to say, but what we do know is that there is at least 1 family from that month waiting for a referral.
I hope that you will hear good news soon!
They keep "forgetting" to move the 0-2 age list forward too...seems like it has been stuck on July for ages...
Someday soon... :D
UGH! I requested an update from our social worker and after she requested it from the agency's head office all I got was the "this is the standard procedure - the timing is unknown" response. We were basically told that our wait may be up to 6 months...or it could be considerably shorter. Hmmm...it doesn't sound like anyone it Colombia (read: agency representative) actually checked on this for us. I'm a little frustrated.
The problem is that we may have the opportunity to move and if our adoption is immenent we would likely hold off on that until the children have been home a year (thus losing out on the opportunity at hand). If it will be 4-6 more months we'll proceed with moving in order to have a more ideal living situation for our expanding family.
Sumerce, maybe you would know if it is even possible for agency representatives within Colombia to call and check on a specific dossier? Maybe that's not even a possibily? Am I expecting too much? We just want to make the best decision for our family and not be in the middle of a move while we are travelling. Our social worker was great, but there is only so much she can do.
Okay...we are going camping for Father's Day weekend and we'll have plenty of time to pray about and discuss the advantages/disadvantages of moving while we are picking wood ticks off the kids trying to keep them out of the poison ivy. Gotta love camping!!! :camo:
