Hello -- I am a single woman in NYC who would like to adopt domestically. I am open to any race, but I do want to adopt a newborn. I am eager for it to happen relatively quickly, because I am 43. I went to Spence-Chapin initially. I then signed up with a small private agency that has just about completed my home study. I am not happy with them for a number of reasons, and am trying to figure out other options. I am open to an attorney adoption, but I would like to work with someone who is hooked into a network of birth parents, because I'm not up for being solely responsible for advertising and outreach. Any suggestions for places to contact? Many thanks in advance. (I am also cross-posting this on the Domestic Adoption and Single Parent boards)

If you're looking for an adoption attorney, might I suggest checking the website for the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. Once there, click on your state and a list of members will appear. Quad A attorneys...as they're often called, are well versed in adoption law and often network together to find parents for babies.
Good luck. Please feel free to pm me if I can be of any help.
Sincerely,
Linny
