Hi I am 20 years old...I am fighting for the rights of children who have been adopted. In the state of Michigan and all over the US. if a child as been adopted the may not have any contact with there adopted families until there are 18 years old or possibly older. I agree with that law to a certain extint. I believe they should not have contact with there birth parent until age 18 but not there siblings...I was adopted and I have 7 brothers and sisters who were also adopted by different families. 5 of which are younger then me...I found my two older ones a year ago after 18 years, and I found my 17 year old brother two months ago. With no help from the state. I did it all on my own. I feel as if there should be a law where Birth siblings should have the right to know the what there siblings names have been changed to and what there b-days are before they turn 18...Mind you I found an underage brother of mind with out anybodys help with time and patients. I plan to take this all the way to the supreme court if I have to. ITs not fair for children who have been adopted to find there sibling so long down the road...Mentally its hurting them not helping them. I know I was adopted myself...Now I have three more sibling still out there waiting to be found ages 14, 13, and 12. this is a serious matter that doesnt get much attention and I plan to get it out! I am trying to get my voice heard. "we didnt choose this life...We were given this life"
