Although it has nothing to do with adoption per se, I love the song Thanksgiving by Poi Dog Pondering. The "road" to becoming DD's parents was a long and hard one, and this song says "Would our paths cross, if every great loss had turned out a gain?" And it reminds me that there was a "perfect" reason for our struggles...they led us to the most amazing child in the world!
I like the Rainbow Connection but sung by Sarah Maclaughlin. Not necessarily an adoption song but it's kind of my song with DS. His Lullabye playlist starts with it. It's our Anthem!
Also Angels the Robbie Williams song as sung by David Archuletta. Robbie wrote the song about his Grandmother but I feel like it applies to E's birth mother as well.
Some of my fav's...
Trisha Yearwood - You're where I belong (from the Stuart Little soundtrack)
Rascal Flat's song...I think it's called God Blessed the Broken road.....
and Amanda Marshal - If I didn't have you. This is the one that I totally broke down over when DS was a couple weeks old....it just REALLY hit home, especially at that time.

Martina McBride's Anyway came out right before DD was born. That's a big one for me.
So is Rascal Flatts' My Wish.
Then there's Natalie Merchant's Wonder. I sing that to DD all the time.
I always boo hooed when I heard "Blessed" byt Elton John- The lyrics are below... and also "A New Day ( has come) by Celine Dion-- both of those songs still put a lump in my throat!

[FONT=Garamond]Hey you, you're a child in my head
You haven't walked yet
Your first words have yet to be said
But I swear you'll be blessed
I know you're still just a dream
your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed
And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that
You'll be blessed
I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed

-Somewhere Out There (from the American Tale soundtrack - from way back in the day!)
-Two Worlds, One Family (from the Tarzan Soundtrack - this is my ringtone whenever the agency or bmom calls!)
-Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman
-When Love Takes You In by Stephen Curtis Chapman (makes me cry EVERY time I watch the video on youtube!)
-not really adoption, but I would love to see DH dance with DD to the song "Everything" by Michael Buble!
-"Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat because just thinking of DD makes me feel bubbly!

Veggie, you are a regular Casey Kasem (hahahah!).
My DH has requested that "Somewhere" version (with the ukelele) be played at his funeral. Morbid, I know! But it is such a beautiful song!
I have a CD with 3 adoption songs on it. I love all 3 of them. One is from the perspective of the bmom, one from adoptive parents and one from adoptee. I think the one from the adoptee is my fav, but I love them all and I cry everytime I hear them!
This song by Mark Shultz is amazing. It is about him, as an adult father looking back on his birthmothers choice to place him for adoption and him getting to meet her one day in Heaven. It's basically saying that you made the right choice. It is a beautiful song. Mark is a Christian singer. I have the this album and it's amazing. It is called "Everything to Me"
I must have felt your tears
When they took me from your arms
I’m sure I must have heard you say goodbye
Lonely and afraid had you made a big mistake
Could an ocean even hold the tears you cried
But you had dreams for me
You wanted the best for me
And you made the only choice you could that night
(Chorus)
You gave life to me
A brand new world to see
Like playing baseball in the yard with dad at night
Mom reading Goodnight Moon
And praying in my room
So if you worry if your choice was right
You gave me up but you gave everything to me
And if I saw you on the street
Would you know that it was me
And would your eyes be blue or green like mine
Would we share a warm embrace
Would you know me in your heart
Or would you smile and let me walk on by
Knowing you had dreams for me
You wanted the best for me
And I hope that you’d be proud of who I am
(Chorus)
You gave life to me
A chance to find my dreams
And a chance to fall in love
You should have seen her shining face
On our wedding day
Oh is this the dream you had in mind
When you gave me up
You gave everything to me
And when I see you there
Watching from heaven’s gates
Into your arms
I’m gonna run
And when you look in my eyes
You can see my whole life
See who I was
And who I’ve become
(Chorus)
