I was born in 1971 and immediately put into foster care where i was adopted a few years later.
Is there any hope other than filling out the form in the event my birth family is looking for me too?
There is always hope. You can fill out the state forms but today there is the internet. There are a lot of online registries. Also, you can check out the Ohio forum here ... there is information and, maybe even search angels. I was found on the internet after over 50 years so there is absolutely always hope.
Good luck.

It is certainly possible. It is easier, however, for the birth parent to find the adoptee since they know the adoptees birth date and place of birth. I was reunited with my daughter who was born in Ohio in 1971 and now her adopted brother wants me to help him find his bio mom. I can see it's going to be harder than it was for me to find my daughter. We will keep working because we know it's possible. I released my half of the adoption records in '93 and it took 6 years to find my daughter and the release of the adoption records was no help at all though it couldn't hurt as you may find your parent released their half already. The internet is the way to go. That's how I found her.
Good luck and never stop trying.
