DD1 is 3.5 yo and lately her favorite exclamation has been "Awesome!!" She's using it for everything.
I got them a kiddie pool and her exclamation was: "Awesome!"
Saturday afternoon I announced that we were having pizza for dinner, her response: "Awesome!"
We're going to the park: "Awesome!"
Her little sister fell down and bled a little bit and her response was (yeah you guessed it): "Awesome!"
What's your child's favorite saying?
Our three year old has a few.
In the order of most common
1. guys. . . She calls us or any other group of people she likes guys. Like "guys let's go swimming" or this "is good, guys!"
2. "That is sooooo funny!" sometimes its "That is soooo funny, guys!"
3. My personal favorite and I'm just enabling her because I laugh. When stuff is going on and there's some bedlam we get, "Whoa, whoa whoa...wait a minute!" complete with the appropriate hands up palms forward gestures. It is hilarious.

love2boys - How old is JD? That's cute!
He's 4...and some time over the last two days, he's been adding "You have GOT to be kidding me!!!" to his repetoire...Seems like he's been spending too much time with mommy lately - he's turning into a regular little mini me!

Ed, I won't tell you a swear my DD said recently...it is five syllables and there is only one person she has ever heard say it (whoops)!! So poopy would be a good alternative!
Hmmmm! 5 syllables? does it have any thing to do with poopy, never mind, can't be if poopy is a better alternative, but a swear that is five syllables long? somebody clue me in...
Not too long ago, I went outside unto the middle of the road at around 3am and let out the biggest scream - I NEEDED THAT! (She was waking up a lot just to bug the heck out of me.)
My daughter graduated from the terrible twos' straight into the horrible three's. Now that she's 3 1/2 I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel - Hoping is not a train!

I swear, whoever coined the term "terrible two's" NEVER had a 3 yo. I actually cried today b/c things have been so bad lately.

A friend told me to just wait for the "f*#&ing fours."

OneHappy, I can't post the swear here (obviously), but it's a combo of different swears that I string together when I am dealing with crazies in traffic!
My guy is only 18months so everything is "noooooo" w/ the eyes closed, like maybe if he doesn't see us we will stop asking him to do something-- and ""let's go" has been a hit lately-
My inlaws were in town last week and we went to dinner- when it was time to go I told my son to go get his "poppie" and he ran over to my fil, grabbed his hand and said "let's go, Poppie" -- I about had to peel him off the floor- that little guy is his heart!:grouphug:
These kids are great!!
Love- I guess I have to deal with our boring selves, my daughter's swearing at the driver in front of us goes like this: "Come on lady move, my mommy is running so very late!"

Gs_Mom - You are so bad!!
Dakota- My daughter sometimes uses "You Guys" as well, funny, because we are all females here.
love2boys - Isn't it great when they begin to express themselves so well. I'm enjoying this new phase.
babycav- DD2 is 21 months, yeah, "NO" is her favorite word.
Aruba - Yeah, why do kids say monkey butt? Have they not seen the butt of a monkey?
mom2justynsarah - PLEEEEEEEEEEEAAASSSSEEE don't tear your hair out.

I have a little negotiator on my hand! These are her favorite sayings
" I got a plan..."
" Lets make a deal..."
" Are you kidding me..."
" Please, pretty please with sugar on top..." ( how do I refuse that???) And I get a kiss for the sugar!
This isn't really a favorite saying, but I think it's pretty darn cute. The "conversation" goes like this ...
Me: Who's hot?
G: Bon Jovi
Me: Who's not?
G: Tom Petty
Yes. I taught him that. And because I laugh, he thinks it's funny. My girlfriend who is a serious BJ fan, thinks it's a hoot too.
P.S. I like Tom Petty's music alot, but you do have to admit he is not very hot.
P.P.S. Yes. I know this ages me :)
My 4 year olds big response as to why she's done something is "Because I wanted to." It is driving me crazy. She doesn't like the consequences but thinks she can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants.
And the 3 year old is finely tuned into airplanes flying overhead. If she is awake and playing, then she likes the airplanes and runs to a window or door to try and see the airplanes. She can even tell you if it's a big airplane or small airplane based on sound alone. If, however, it is nighttime and she is in bed, then "The big airplanes scare me. They hurt my ears. They going to get me." This nighttime routine of crying over airplanes all started thanks to the Blue Angels that felt the need to fly over at 10pm one night while in town and wake her up. Now all airplanes are "going to get her" if she is in her room.
These are too funny! MAM currently says, "nah, I'm good" if you offer her something she doesn't want (which is a vast improvement over her emphatic no!)
She is also very proud of her use of the alternatives I've given her to saying D@M# IT. I'm glad the alternatives are taking, but if something drops, she says, "Oh man! Oh nuts! Oh no" over and over again until I acknowledge that she's used approved alternatives. (In hindsight i should have started using said alternatives years ago)
She also likes to quote the matchmaker in Mulan and blurts out , "YOU WILL NEVER BRING YOUR FAMILY HONOR!!" several times a day.

Oh boy the poop(y) word is on here too. She'll sing a song and end with poo poo or poopy. Ok, what is that???
AKMamma- The "Because I wanted to." would drive me crazy too!
Airplanes at 10pm, I would be scared too!
Slatond10- You got your hands fulll. "I got a plan!?!"- Too cute!
Gs_mom- Dating ourselves is good! We're like wine, we get better with time!
McNally720- Yeah, I like the alternatives are much better too.
Denice - Yeah, what's up with all that poop?! I'm sure I'll be hearing it soon enough.
