I do believe that ive found my birth moms marriage liscense . i do have the date month and the year it took place and i know the county where they got the marriage liscnse. now if i can get a hold of their marriage certificate from California. i could have a gold mine of info on there.... how ever i tried to order one through the web site and it says that the county does not keep the dada base. so how do i go about getting the marriage certificate. i know that this is public info but i need help from there. thanks in advanced.

Do they mean it's not on the internet? Can it physically be found at the county courthouse? In PA, every license is numbered and recorded, you need to know which office keeps them. (In PA it's the Orphan's Court!)

i cant order it from the internet. I tried to order the marriage certificate from ancestry.com and they siad i could not order it becauze the county does not keep the database up i guess> do i need to go physically to calaveras county in california clerk and get it or will they let me get through the mail??

I honestly do not know. I would call the courthouse and ask. It may take a while to get to the right person.
