No more than an hour a day is our guideline. I always wonder if that is too much, so I'm glad others watch about that much, too. We're big Thomas the Train and Diego fans around here. Oh, and Bob the Builder. We've actually never seen Handy Manny, but I'd like to try it. OK, I am a little too into kids tv shows, I guess!
I'm going to be the odd one out here...
Our kiddos have watched 0 minutes of actual TV - ever. They watch one or two 30 minute videos a week. It depends on what's going on at our house, but it is usually a big treat for them. I don't really have a problem with using media with the kids, but we just have so much else to do that our days fly by without it. And since they haven't expienced much of videos they don't really ask for it. They'd rather go to the park or play a game and I'm all for that.
Originally I was trying to hold out on videos until I really needed them to get stuff done, but so far I haven't needed them too much, so we just have a blast without!

Usually about 50 minutes...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny.
that's what my boys are watching, too! lol
Sheetrock Hills (Handy Manny) is the most multicultural town I have ever seen. :) And I like the way they incorporate spanish into show...just matter of fact and then repeat the english version.
We DVR them and I love it because there are no commercials during the show only between shows so we can skip them. Mateo's 2nd birthday is in October and I am trying to figure out how to do a MM Clubhouse them. I found some really cute cake toppers online so I may play around with that.

Funny thing in our house is older older kids watch zero tv - maybe a movie on the weekends. Our 14 yr old sometimes watches a show after our 8 yr old goes to bed. BUT - our 2 year old watches about an hour a day cause I need to get stuff done (bad mommy!). Ok, usually the "stuff" I need to get done is checking my email but sill...hehe. He LOVES Teletubbies - we have a bunch of videos since we have no cable or satelitte.
You are all so good...I'll make you feel better!! Ha!
Around here, we try for an hour a day max, but some days, it's definitely more. When it's a nice day outside, it's none though, so I try to rationalize that makes up for it.
Caleb loves Handy Manny too, and it's a really cute show. He takes Spanish classes here, and it's fun to see what he also picks up from that show.
