So, hubby and I went to see Tom Petty last night and while I'm not a huge fan of his, they put on a great show. So, what is your favorite concert?
I'd have to say mine is the Dixie Chicks - I saw them on their tour before the latest one....ah, what amazing performers.

In Seattle, Paige (or was it Brentwood or whatever funky place was where they had the show)? That is too funny. Maybe you helped pass me over the crowd!!! I just got an email from an old flame from Seattle yesterday (I haven't talked to him in 15 years). Are you there? Maybe you could do some recon work for me (without telling DH...hahahah!).

Dave Matthews (not the band) & Tim Reynolds, acoustic, early April 2003. Right before I found out that I was pregnant with the Munchkin, actually. Anyway, the music was OUTSTANDING and he played some rarely played songs. And it was just a wonderful night of music. Then he made some crappy solo album and the next band album sucked too and I got jaded with his style. So, that's the climax of my love affair with Dave.

As a teen my favorite concert was AC/DC and I believe Blue Oyster Cult opened for them. I lost some brain cells and hearing that night...1979.

I was a grunge babe in Seattle in the early 90s and just went to shows all the time. But the best was a Lollapalooza with Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chile Peppers, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Ice Cube. I got to the front of the stage (before Red Hot Chile Peppers) and was moshing around. Next thing I know, throngs of people come rushing forward and I pass out and get "passed over" the crowd to a safe zone (what a l.oser!).
I just saw Pearl Jam again a few weeks ago. Eddie Vetter is the hottest.
My biggest regret? I have yet to see Neil Young live. I want to desperately.
Belle, I had no idea Eddie Vetter was an adoptee. Geez....I picked the wrong adoptee to marry (Eddie was hot for me in the early 90s.....hahahahahh!). He was just on a solo tour...I had tix but couldn't go because I was traveling. I was so flipping annoyed! He has the most beautiful song out now called No More (War). Needless to say, not only is he hot but his politics are up my alley as well. Stormster, you don't need to see LZ live...just watch Song Remains the Same over and over and over (I used to! heehee!). Btw, I am a monster Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry fan but never saw them live...I bet it was great. Jenna, I was visiting Chicago and there was a big controversy that Dave Matthews' tour bus dumped its "toilet" in Lake Michigan (or maybe one of the rivers, I forget). I can't listen to him anymore because I dunno...all the songs sound alike to me now for some reason.

Stormster--I saw them in Indy in the early 90's. It was at Maarket Square Arena which is no longer here. We had a great time and they were fabulous. The only thing that bothered me was there were people there with their infants and back then there was smoking--so the cigarette and pot smoke was quite thick. Not to mention the loud music!! The poor babies ears. OH---Robert Plant---

One of the first major "dates" D/H took me on (that cost more than $5.00 and didn't involve fries or popcorn) was to a Prince concert. This was 20+ years ago during the Purple Rain tour; I was a college student home for the summer. I went out and bought a purple cat suit to wear with my car note money, got these black leather thigh-high boots IN THE SUMMER with silver heels ah la Prince style and a 4 foot hairdo! I had a tube of "mood lipstick" in purple, of course. Prince was awesome...:prop: :prop: I swore I'd name my next kid Prince, or Dove, or Darling Nikki, or Morris Day! :rockband: The next day I ran out of my parents house late to head out to my summer job at Mervyns only to find the Repo man towing my car down the street. Not only did my now D/H give me a ride to work but he loaned me the $210.00 to get my car back without telling my parents! Thats why I married him. Tracy
Tracy you keep surprising me! That was the same tour where I sat next to Whitney and Bobby! I think it was Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Pretty racy stuff at the time wasn't it?!
Your D/H sounds awesome. All that and he still liked you after the hair and the mood lipstick! Wow :grouphug:
