Readoption requirements are governed by state law. Call your state court and find out the requirements. If you can't find the right office, ask your homestudy agency; if it is experienced in international adoption, it will know.
Some states make readoption very easy. Others treat readoption almost like a domestic adoption. Some states make readopting on one's own (pro se) a realistic possibility. In others, use of an attorney is necessary or highly recommended.
Many states require a homestudy update and/or post-placement visits. Some states require updated police and child abuse clearances. All will want your to see your child's foreign adoption decree, foreign birth certificate, and foreign passport with visa stamp. If you want to include a name change order in the readoption decree, because the child's foreign paperwork is in his/her foreign name, you will need to include this information in your petition. And so on.
