I got pregnant when I was 13, delivered and at 14 a baby girl. I was placed in a home for unwed mothers in Chicago by my mother, Salvation Army's Booth Memorial on North Pulaski.
I'm seeking my birth daughter and adoptive family.
I was a child that had a child and her adoption was out of my control.
I pray that we find each other.
Have you registered your search anywhere? This site has a reunion registry database (under the reunite tab) and there are many other free registries including state registries. I just checked this site registry and there are 28 listings on this site for female / August /1967 /Illinois. You need to go through them looking for matches as well as post your search there as well.
Good luck,
Dickons

Thanks for the reponses.
I didn't know where to start. This is the beginning of my search.
None identifying information.. contact the agency or lawyer that handled the adoption..
Register and put a letter open for contact at the agency..
Demand your information.. you have a right and don't let anyone tell you different..
There are many places on the net where you can put your info..
Stay with us..
Jackie
I agree about registering with places on the net. It is nice to have some support on this site.
Best of luck to you,

I don't know the agency or any lawyers that handled the adoption. My mother did everythig. She had even told me that we were leaving the baby in foster care for 3 months, long enough for us to find a bigger place to accomodate the baby. I was unaware that the papers she was having me sign were adoption papers. My mom passed year and took all information with her.
Salvation Army tells me that all recordes are now closed unless the child is seeking me:confused:
I gave her the name of Wendy Michelle when she was born in Chicago
I registered on the reunion registry on this site, and guess what, my daughter contacted me. We've talked several times, met once and will meet again later this month. So, don't give up hope.

Hopefully you can put a letter in her file.. an 'open for contact' letter.. and you maybe can get non identifying information..
Keep at them.. give yourself permission..
When I first started looking I asked for info and they said no.. and I gave up for a year.. then I went back into it after giving me permission to be aggressive..
Call them.. bug them.. ask them.. you have rights..

:thanks: Thanks for all the support and encouraging words. I'll keep on Sal Army and do what I can.
I've registered on the reunion site and will look for others to do the same, but most are asking for a fee.
I know it will alwork out because GOD is in charge and HE never fails!
