Father was born in Italy 6/21/56 adopted in NJ USA

Hi. I am looking for any help or info about my father's biological family. He was born in Italy, on 06/21/56. I was told he was adopted from Rome. I think he may have been born there. He was adopted at 6mos old, I believe. He had light red hair and brown eyes.
