If you are on the ICBF waitlist, is it possible to switch to a Casa wait list?
I ask because we are about to re-do our dossier. Since we have been waiting 7 months, and the dossier is only good for 18 months, we will most likely have to do it a 3rd time. The only way to avoid re-re-doing and paying for everything a 3rd time would be to receive a referral before it expires.
It seems that ICBF really is the full 30 month wait while Casa referrals may sometimes be shorter. Also since we are non-Colombian and waiting for an infant, I know it may be longer.
Thank you
Shonda
Shonda,
It seems like this would be up to your agency and whether or not they have any openings for a spot at one of the casas. The casas sort of give each agency that they have a contract with a "quota", of sorts, per year as to how many referrals they expect to be able to give out. I would recommend talking to your case worker or the director of your agency's Colombia program, and see if there is anything they can do to help you switch. I totally understand you not wanting to have to redo your dossier 3 times. Good luck!
