You can probably do a lot of the legwork yourself. There are so many resources on the Internet. Myspace, facebook, etc... I'd recommend registering with the ISSR, a state registry if your state offers one, and the other web based databases like here, G's, and a few others. If any matches come up, you will at least now that they are looking for you first. That is a big plus to know up front as receiving a letter asking if someone is a child or parent can be a rattling experience. I'd also get your non identifying information from the state and the agency that placed you if an agency was used. Others can give more thorough advice as well, but so much of it can be done by yourself. I feel that the search is the part of the journey that helps you face the reasons for the search. Some of the non ID information is like a snapshot from the past. Welcome and read what others have dealt with. Best wishes. To add, I'd actually spend good money to have my bmoms name.

GRAYLING, Do you know where you were adopted from..i.e. agency, hospital, town-city, state? What your DOB is and the year. Does your parents have any info to provide you with? If you have more info such as above your search could be wittled down somewhat. Kepp us posted, we are all here for you...Good luck!:flower:

:thanks: i do have some of that information. I was born in Grayling, Michigan on July 9, 1972 at Mercy Hospital in Grayling. I also have my birthparent's names!! I spoke with an informative woman at DHS and have left 4 messages with others to call me back about obtaining information... whether it be non ident. or ident. I am registering with ISRR right after posting this, too! I am also registered with "MichiganSearching.com" and am beginning to use their resources as well. Thanks for your support... hopefully i will have more to update!! :flower:
