I don't want to ask people what their opinion is on the election, we have already beat that horse to death. What I am curious is whether folks have been receiving robo-calls from the McCain campaign. We have been receiving calls on our cell phones (costing us money) which are these auto-dial things. They have called over ten times so far. We then get someone reading some script about Obama being a terrorist. I checked the web and some folks have been getting these calls at 2 am. The number we had them coming from is 1-866-558-2875. We have called back but we can't get a real person to ask them to stop calling. I'm trying to find out if other folks have been getting these robo-calls also or if we here in Minnesota are special and if they are, if anyone has been successful in stopping this?
I get 10 calls a day form both sides. I hate it- I work form home and they call on my home phone, my work line, my work cell and my home cell (yes, I am way too connected).
I wish there was a way to tell them I already sent in my ballot since I thought I was traveling for work on election day- they are wasting their time trying to get my vote.
Love to you,
Deb

Yes, I have gotten at least 15 in the past 2 weeks. I have NO idea how to make them stop calling, so if you find out, PLEASE let me know! We are in Colorado, a battleground state this time around, so the ads are endless. I have never gotten one on my cell phone. My DH gets them on his though, literally 8 per day! He doesnt answer anymore when he sees an number he doesnt recognize. Can you do that with your cell??
Due to the polarizing topic and the tendency for them to create issues on the forums, we have created this forum for all election and political discussions.
This ensures that those not interested in reading or seeing political discussions are not forced to see them while visiting our forums specific to adoption or adoption topics.
I don't know how I lucked out, but I haven't gotten one call. Maybe that is because I am on the gov. do not call list??? Those calls would drive me crazy  !!
We're not getting the calls and we're in Ohio. But my husband keeps getting mail from the candidate of the party he isn't even registered with. I find it impossible to believe that these candidates think this method of campaigning is going to win them votes. If anything, it should do just the opposite. How much money is wasted on these phone calls that could be going into the economy right now? I'm not even Governor of Alaska and I can figure that one out on my own!!!!!!!

Did you all hear about the reall terrible calls that people were getting in Montana (I think it was). They were against the GOP, either way it would be terrible..the "who" is the point of me sharing.
Anywho, the calls were supposedly really nasty, to a new level. But here's the best part...considering all the talk about keeping jobs here...the calls were OUTSOURCED! To Romania!! Can you even stand it?!
Thank God I live in California where Robo calls are illegal :)
(They're also illegal in Indiana and one other state, though I forget which...)
I did hear that they're looking to make restricting laws in other states - such that each number could only receive TWO calls a day.
Call me crazy, but that still sounds OUTLANDISH.
While sometimes I wish I was in a swing state since it feels like my vote would "count more", it's times like these I'm especially happy that I don't live in a swing state...
And I absolutely destest Robo Calls!
We didn't do them for our campaign, does anyone actually listen to those things? And the Do Not Call list. Politicans are exempt from the rules.
I'll be glad when November 4th is over!
Everyone get out there and vote!
Kim:clap:
I hate any political calls, whether they be survey, recorded information or an actual human being pimping their candidate. I think they are out of line. Lucky for me I live in Texas and no candidate will waste too much time on us.

Six robo calls today. I would say we get more democratic party calls than other calls. Tons of local election robo calls in the last month too. One call was an invite to connect to a town meeting over the phone! I had never heard of that before. And with a two year old I would have never heard what they were saying so didn't participate in it.
Two who suggested we vote early. I can't wait until Tuesday! No more calls! Don't get me wrong, it's important, I will vote and I am passionate about it. But the calls are getting old quick!
