The title says it all. My youngest is 28 months old and still nursing. We are almost finished with our home study to adopt a newborn. There is only one other family on the waiting list interested in adopting an African-American baby, so the social worker doesn't believe that our wait will last too long. I am looking for other moms' experiences with nursing a newborn while they are already breastfeeding an older toddler. All I can find online are instructions on how to relactate and lists of drugs and teas. I have never had supply issues with any of my babies.
Thanks!
Hello,
There is a yahoo group for moms who plan to adoptive breastfeed and I know there were a few posts very recently about this same situation - maybe you'd want to join for some support and advice? Also - another mom on here is in the same boat - although she found she still needed the dom and herbs etc to get her supply up enough for demands of a newborn - I think her name is "nursereedle" or something like that...
Hope this helps!
