Can you belive how much the whole world is celebrating with us right now? I'm watching CNN and I can't belive the effect this is having. I think this will improve our image around the world. I am so proud of our country!!
But I have to say I am inspired by Obama and the history that was made in our country last night.
Go U.S!!!!!
Let's go get our soldiers and bring 'em home as soon as we can!

I actually cried a little this morning, when watching cllips of his speech - (can't believe that I did or that I am admitting it!!). I am so proud of our country, and so happy for all of us, but mostly for my little girls. DD#1 has started to notice her skin color (she is mixed race just like OUR NEW PRESIDENT!!) AND this morning she looked at him and said, "Hey, he matches me!!"
So very happy I don't want to start work.....
Mega
p.s it was the part about his little girls getting a new puppy that pushed me over the edge!!
Megaphone - I've been crying off and on all day and he's not even my President! Man I saw a clip of Dr. King's speech and that sent me over the edge for about 5 minutes :hissy:
Ok, Josie - you PROMISED a party - when are you coming to get me????????
One more thing - my 2 year old is wearing his "Obama for Hope" t-shirt and I've had about 10 people stop me and say how exciting it is/was and start conversations...:earth:
Karyn, as soon as I deal with the negatives on this forum, I'll be there. It may take a while.
Am I elated????? Are you kidding??????? All over Columbus, OH, people are smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my friend, what is the point? To some, there will always be negatives, you know? I am TOTALLY ignoring ALL the negatives today and just celebrating!!!!! :flower:
Tomorrow I can back in there and tackle all the bs that may flow from this...
See, Karyn, you Canadiennes are so much better at self-control!!!!!!!!
Hugs,

THAT ONE did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Supa, Karyn and "Helayne" - can you see the Josie dance????

(That's a family dance. Last nite, I was able to wake my children at 11 p.m. and reiterate, for them, that they now have PROOF that they can be whatever they want to be!).
I see you dancing Josie! :happydance: :rockband: We are getting down in MI too! For the first time in like forever my little Republician county voted Democratic. I am so totally shocked!
My E was so hard and fast asleep there was no waking her but when I awoke her this morning I turned on the light and said "Big Girl, guess who won!" She fluttered her eyes until she woke up enough to comprehend then smiled and said, "Barack." I bought a newspaper to save for the future, she looked at it and asked if that was her surprise for the day.
Today at my job I walked up to one of my coworkers and not a word was spoken, he just smiled and threw up his hand for a Hi-five. Later only three of us stood around in a little congratulatory group while the others were away from us wishing it were November 2 instead of the day after elections. I say poo to the naysayers and I'm enjoyig our moment in the sun.:flower:
Let me know, Josie, when you're on your way to pick up Karyn and I'll be on I-75 waiting for you.
Get me! Get me!
SHD, when they pick you up on I75, swing over to 696 and get me! I'll bring dessert!
None of my "friends" want to party with me...I just saw their facebook comments - they said they need to go out and by "Socialism for Dummies"...they are so witty...

We're going to need dessert because it sounds like we're going to have a car full. Between Lovemy2boys, Karyn, Josie and me we're going to need a big vehicle for this party, sounds like fun! :rockband:
Yes, Love, you have witty friends. It sounds to me like they're a little bitter too. They don't need to come to our party, we don't need spoil sports. :p

OOO... I wanna come too!!!!!
For sure - Supa, you're in!
All right everyone - we need to get this party started cause up here in Canada winter is coming and once the snow flies I am stuck ! :hissy:
For real though, are any of you planning to go to the inauguration?

Ok guys - I am freaking out here - but I think I am actually going to go to Obama's inauguration!!!!!!   I just found out it is much warmer than I thought (-3 to +6 right???) and much closer than I thought (under 10 hours!!!) so I think I may just have to boogey across that border...
Don't laugh at me - but we have a VW van that just got a new engine that is BEGGING for a road trip. Ok, and again, don't laugh at me - but is there anywhere to park a VW van overnight near Washington?
So - who's going to join me? :woohoo:
would that be the BOMB, or what? All of us meeting in DC. Let me consider that, my little love muffin . . .
With 4 kids and an extra on school days, my ability to be impulsive has gone by the wayside!!
Hugs,
Josie
