What is a typical age for kids to not believe? Do you think there is a limbo time between when they don't believe. And they tell us they don't believe?
I found a site which sells Santa letters and Santa calls which I want to send to my kids and keep them believing in Santa, since that's one of the only reason they behave during Christmas.
Here is the site: Santa Letters - Letters From Santa - Personalized Santa Claus Letter
I think it's around 10. My son is 10 and he still believes but I know this is it... My 6th graders that I teach - well most of them don't believe anymore.
My rule is this "If you don't believe, you won't receive" so next year if he says he doesn't believe then there won't be any more gifts from "Santa" to him under the tree :)

Oh yeah - you can also "Track" santa online on Xmas eve to see where he is in the world - when we was 1 state away from us that was how I got all the kids in bed and to sleep because they thought he'd pass us if they didn't go to bed.... :)
My daughter was told there wasn't Santa in 1st grade. I asked her how did the kid know? Did he still get gifts frm Santa? He didn't? Well that is because he didn't believe!! Her brother is now 5 an highly intelligent I am sure the fantasy won't be for long.
Any way when my older two got to old 8-10. I explained that "Santa' meant gift giving without a name" so even when they are older they should believe.

Singlemom - I think the site you're talking about is noradsanta.org
We watch it every Christmas eve!
My kids are in preschool and 1st grade, and I HOPE they believe for at least another 2 Christmas's beyond this one...
Most people at Toys R Us this morning (yes, I'm a fool) were saying their kids believed until about 9 or 10...
When my kids start questioning, I'm going to pull the old "Polar Express" logic and tell them that basically that the magic of Santa is the spirit that lives within your heart...and that as long as you believe, that spirit lives on...
