Hello,
My name is Natalia, I am a volanteer from a Russian non profit fund Otkazniki (refused children) and my task is just to give some little information about kids so that they have a child of adoption.
I am here now to tell you a story of one little girl and ask you to read it and maybe to share with those interested.
In a small town not far from Moscow in the Nursery House there lives a girl. Her name is Polina Polia. She is a little beauty, just two and a half years old, and she can't walk.
Polia was born this way and she was immediately left by her mother, just as many other "refused" children. She went under a number of very difficult operations which saved her life but didn't give her the ability to walk. Here starts the new story of Polia ֖ the story of an extraordinary strong and brave little girl.
Polia has many friends. "Rebiatki" she calls them. She makes friends with the children of her group and she easily communicates with the adults who work close to her. Polia is very well developed for her age: can eat by herself and wash her hands, loves picture books, especially musical ones. She has one such book and Polina wouldn't even go to bed without it.
When she watches other children of her group walk in the yard and play with the nanny or run in the play room, the normally always cheerful Polina becomes serious, she can walk either on hands of adults or in her wheelchair, brought to her as a gift from the USA. Polia struggles, at the age of two and a half, she masterly learned to manage her wheelchair. She invents her own methods of moving, tries to crawl by herself. When the nanny dresses her the little girl holds her sweet legs and reassuringly asks in earnest "Is it hard for you?".
Besides the inability to walk, Polia has some other medical conditions, but not fatal and they could be corrected. Much has already been done for this, volunteers help to provide her with medical aid.
Polia is glad to see new people, she enjoys talking to them, shows her room and is upset when the guests leave. She constantly learns something new, remembers new words quite well she has an excellent memory. She likes to watch white snow going down, and pays attention to the cat֒s smile in the book, not every grown-up would notice it.
This amazing little blue-eyed girl has some inner strength, stamina, which helps her to struggle for her life, it helped her not to lose hope after the operations, and it guides her now encouraging to live bravely into a new day. Such fortitude is always amazing in children. But its not the only reason Polina is very special.
She is beautiful like a little mermaid. If she is helped now she will undoubtedly become a beautiful girl, dark haired and with wonderful blue eyes of a rare shape. It is evident now that she has beauty and self esteem. ItҒs difficult to say what her life will be like if the girl doesnt find a family. Certainly it will be very hard, but it is clear by now that nothing will destroy her courage and fortitude.
If we really believe that beauty will save the world, we should save the beauty first. Here she is living in the Nursery house in a small town near Moscow. This little girl Polina needs a family to have a Destiny that she deserves, and she will be a treasure to a family who adopts her.
