seriously....i wrote five times, and had to delete my response to several posts. a law is a law is a law. if someone was babysitting their child, and did not restrain them, was in an accident, and their child was severely injured, would they say, "oh, well, he was with a baby sitter, so it is ok," or "there didn't even used to be seatbelts." BLAH! i held my tongue...i bet other people don't....and i have to go to bed because otherwise when the "ebil" witches come tomorrow to take off with my stuff, i will not have enough energy to defend myself and my belongings. lol.
please help watch out.....for the thread....not the "ebil" witches...that one i have covered. lol.
(if you don't know what i'm talking about, my 3 year old told me today that "ebil" witches have been taking my things. uh huh.)

...and just bc i'm feeling snarky, i feel like i have to add:
maybe i'll just make myself an alter ego and pretend i'm someone else and respond as rudely as i'd like. lol. have you ever been tempted to do that? see...again, i can never have more powers than i have already....i'm "ebil" i tell you, "ebil.":evilgrin:

Be as snarky as you want to Brook. Seriously, I thought you were talking about a thread of the fp forum when I saw the thread title. Whew, just because I've been incredibly busy today I would hope that 'my' people would behave.
BTW: yes, I have wished that I had another acct with an alter-ego so i could be rude and blunt when I feel like it. One poster on the fp forums just drives me up the wall. I have to tell myself that maybe she just crawled out from under a rock and doesn't know anything (even though she sometimes seems to think that she does). Go ahead, be 'ebil' all you want.;)

Oh yeah. At least once a day. (Sorry Crick! But I don't do it! :) ) Especially when it comes to the subject of car seats. I do a lot of typing responses and deleting them. Makes me feel a little better. Sometimes.
I used to be a CPS tech (couldn't keep up my certification with three kids) and a total car seat nazi. Threads like that make my blood boil. Good for you for coming up with a civil response!

Um, why do foster parents get a pass?
If the exact same circumstance involved a bio parent meeting the foster parent to return the children - (flat tire, borrowed car, etc etc) I can PROMISE you every post on that thread would

Well obviously you can't be ebil, but certainly don't have to be all nicey nice with replies you want to participate in either. Be respectful but don't feel you can't debate or support your beliefs either.
Brandy - you know that Ebil Brook would report even the President on this issue, right!? LOL!

i AGREE! PLUS, unfortunately, bio parents do not sign their life away promising to follow the carseat LAW...but foster parents DO! and i am sorry, but when you are caring for SOMEONE else's child, you do not get the luxury of choosing the days you follow the laws you promised to follow. i was so mad that one lady said it didn't matter they were foster children, when it SO does matter.

I am a foster parent and couldn't agree more.
I was all set to report a mom and the cw one day until the cw agreed to let the child stay with me while mom and uncle went to Target to get an appropriate carseat. My fd was 17 months old and being ru'd. Mom and uncle had an INFANT carseat put in the car in a FORWARD facing position!!! I told them all in no uncertain terms that I would not let fd be put into that carseat. I know the cw probably wouldn't have let mom transport fd in the infant seat, but I wasn't about to take any chances. If you don't have the appropriate size carseat don't use one that is too small and put it in the car facing the wrong way. For crying out loud, what were they thinking?
Needless to say, I still have concerns about the ru of this little girl and she left my home in May of 2007.
