Since this is a faith-based forum and almost all of us pray (or meditate) for our adoptions to go smoothly, I thought I'd post a pagan prayer a day. I get these from another forum I belong to so I'll also include copyright info.
If you have a prayer you use please feel to post it as well. I sure wouldn't mind more participation on this forum. :flower:
Blessings!
Today's prayer:
"You who gave birth to all things,
give birth to what I desire;
bring it to pass."

"Chase your father, little one;
swiftly he sinks and swiftly you follow him.
Grow in strength and in sureness.
Grow into yourself as the month goes by."

Prayer for Memorial Day
Lady Liberty, you are an aspect of the Mother, Goddess over All;
we love you and fear you and appreciate the blessings you bestow -- but oh! at such a great price!
Thank you for the brave men and women you have called to be warriors. Thank you for instilling that fire and pride, and teaching them to hear the call to duty as it beats inside their chests.
Thank you for those who serve more quietly, but just as essentially, with support and clerical and moving all the materiel necessary to keep and hold our brave fighting men and women, the vast coordination operations that go unseen but never unappreciated.
Lady, sternly guide those in positions to call orders, to make life and death decisions -- speak loudly to them with your wisdom. Let them never be casual or willful as they deploy and send our greatest resource, our flesh and blood, into harm's way.
Thank you for the oldsters, who sit in the sun recalling the days of glory gone by.
Thank you for all who have served, whatever their age, and for their families who make an equal--though different--sacrifice.
Thank you for those fighting even now.
Our humble appreciation for the sacrifice of the fallen.
Bless those who come back changed, damaged, not as they were -- bodies torn, spirits seared, minds darkened or wounded. May we care for them and honor them steadfastly, justly, as they make an ongoing sacrifice.
Bless all who come back, whatever their state.
Cherish those who do not come back to us alive, cherish them unto your bosom and help us with our losses.
Be with and sustain those who are lost, prisoners of war, or missing in action. Let them not be lost forever.
For all the mothers, sisters, fiancees, fathers, brothers, fiances, uncles and aunts, grandparents, and the children, Lady, the children of those you call to service -- lay your cool hand upon their brows and comfort them, all friends and family members, pets, and coworkers, each according to their needs.
May we always remember our sacred dead and never forget to honor those who have served, will serve, are serving still.
And if it comes such a day, Lady, that this sacrifice need not be laid down, may that day come swiftly. Until then, and always, we honor those who have heard the call and those who love them.

"As spears, as swords, as arrows,
The Sun sends out his rays,
as weapons from the hand of a mighty warrior,
to strike down falsehood and untrue ways.
As spears, as swords, as arrows,
send out your rays,
as weapons from the hand of a mighty warrior,
to strike down falsehood and untrue ways."

"To the east, to the south,
to the west, to the north,
to above and below,
I send my words flying.
From the east, from the south,
from the west, from the north,
from above and below,
may blessings come flying."

"Lord of undying fire that burns within us all,
my prayer is sent to you, from my heart to yours.
As you are enflamed, so may I be also;
filled with the fire that rolls out from within your hidden home,
that golden-walled palace enclosed by living water.
Burn away my weaknesses.
Light within me a raging fire of strength.
Cause me to burn with zeal to perform the acts of the gods."

"Each flower that stands in all the world's gardens is a tribute to you, Queen Flora.
Every one that blooms in the wild places of the Earth is an offering both from you and to you."

"The warm time is here:
time to work and time to rest,
time to celebrate outside,
time to prepare for the harvest.
All about us, the Land Spirits are singing.
All about us, the deities are speaking.
Help me to listen, all you divine beings.
May I hear your voices."

"The spirits of the mountain exist in strength.
Their roots are deep in the Earth,
their heads pierce the air and mount to the sky above.
They dance from flat to peak
and, spiraling, descend again.
Good Ones, when I come under your trees and upon your stones,
guide me."

Today may we appreciate this food and remember those who are hungry.
May we appreciate our family and friends and remember those who are alone.
May we appreciate our health and remember those who are sick.
May we appreciate the freedoms we have and remember those who suffer injustice and tyranny.
Peace on earth.

"From high above, the Sun looks down,
the witness of all deeds done by the people.
Lord of Truth, guide me in my actions,
so that all I do might be worthy of your gaze."

"On the edge of sight, I can see a wonder:
a woman on a horse walking slowly away,
her moon-pale steed taking even strides.
If I send swift thoughts racing after her,
I cannot overtake her;
her careful steps keep ahead of my impetuous racing.
I call out to her:
"Lady, for the sake of the one who loves you,
I beg of you, stop."
She comes to a halt and I can approach.
She says, "It would have been better if you had done that first."
I remember, and call to her in love,
and wait for her to stop for me."

"Make me strong in spirit,
Courageous in action,
Gentle of heart,
Let me act in wisdom,
Conquer my fear and doubt,
Discover my own hidden gifts,
Meet others with compassion,
Be a source of healing energies,
And face each day with hope and joy."

"Turn aside your storms, send them away.
May peace descend in their wake.
Rager, Rudra, Lord of Lightning,
withhold your chaos, pass by this place,
leaving it in peace, leaving it in calm."

as freely as a hostess spreading a feast for guests.
Place before us the banquet of this day's deeds
and we will share it with you."
