Hi, I'm new here. I've been browsing the adoption.com site for quite awhile, but decided to finally join the forums. I won't be adopting too soon, but within a year or so, I hope. I am trying to be prepared as possible, looking up all the information I need for adoption requirements, looking into schools and such, looking into costs. Again, even though it wont be too soon, I figure it's best to be prepared. I do have some questions, though! I don't speak to my biological father but out of my own personal choice (and personal safety). I do know there is a process in which you write an essay about how you've grown up. Will they interview him? Also...requirements within the job field. Let's say you have a good paying job & can prove it, is there a time slot within which you need to be at that job before you can be approved to be an adoptive parent? I hope someone can help me out here! Thank you!!! I may have more questions later.

Thank you for the warm welcome & advice. I'm hoping it all goes over well & that they'll have the understanding. I know that when I adopt a child, I want them to have a better life and to be able to acheive goals & thinking of the best possible enviroment, my biological father would prevent that. So, I'm very wary of that one issue.
HOWEVER, my mom's husband (who I consider "dad") who they would be seeing a lot of is a big family person. So is my mom! They have contributed more to "raising" me than the biological father. So...there you are.
