hi everyone i am new to this site. I am in the process of my orientation apr 13 and then on to MAPP classes in May but i have a question does anyone know how many children bio and foster can a person have in there home to adopt another child we have a 5 bedroom home so my two sons ages 7, 4 sleep on bunk bed in one room and my twins ages 2 1/2 our in the other in a bb and my daughter 4 has two twin beds in her room which when i am matched the child will be in with her . so i am wanting to know if there is a limit on how many or do they go by square foot of home which is 2400. and each bedroom is 12 x 14 We have the room i am just checking to make sure we are not going through classes if we can't even place a child in our home. any info is appreciate also when i am matched do they require that each child has ther own dresser or can they share one that is six drawers and big. :thanks:
I second this question! Is there a resriction as to the size of your family if you are wanting to foster?

When I fostered in Fl., the only restriction was that boys were in one room, girls in another and everyone needed their own bed. Parents could not give up their bed for a child and no children could sleep in parents room. Not even babies.
 i went to the site where orientation was suppose to be held and guess what? i was told there wasn't a orientation being held so i didn't get to go tonight i am so mad so i am calling FSS to complain because i looked at there web site and it said it was being held at a library even closer to my home. i even confirmed on friday of last week with FSS to make sure that it would be held at college but they must have moved meeting or something so i will call to see when next one is i just hope it is before mapp classes start if not then i will have to wait untiljune to do mapp classes i am so irritated .
I think it varies by county because here in Duval when we went thru MAPP and our homestudy in 2006 we were told a child could sleep in the parents room up to age 2. And it was so many kids depending upon size of rooms (IE each kid needed so much square feet but I can't remember the number).

Did they have it because our daughter goes to counseling there and they had NO power since 10:30am yesterday! UGH...I wonder if they even held it? That is if you are speaking of the Boy's Home in Jax? The entire Boy's home was without power due to the storm and as of 4pm yesterday they didn't have it back.
yea   Now waiting for caseworker to call i can't believe how fast that month went by now the waiting begins does anyone know of any adoption photolisting where i can view children that are adoptable.
The county that I am licensed with will only allow 5 children - total - in the home unless a temporary waiver is granted. Do they know how many children you already have.
If so - good luck and best wishes. Kids need good stable homes.
yes they know how many children i have when you are fostering it's 5 children. But i am adopting it doesn't have a limit just if you have the space to provide for the children which me and hubby have. :thanks:
