This is a California birth database: sfgenealogy | CABI Search
If you are sure of the day of birth, you can enter "male", the date, and county, and see who was born on that date. Baby is most likely listed with his adoptive name; also listed is his amother's maiden name, so you might be able to track him further on ancestry.com. You can also look for marriages on that site. You can sign up for a free trial or pay for a month, or sometimes find a library that subscribes to ancestry.com.
Wishfulthinker, I find it so strange that you are listed by your bparents' names? How old were you when you were adopted? Aren't you still looking for your bfamily?
I was adopted at nine months through an agency, and the database and ancestry.com list me as the child of my aparents. All my records have been amended to reflect my adoptive identity.
Sonia,
Yes, I'm still searching. My adoptive parents got me when I was 3 weeks old (I was in a foster home prior to that.) I was adopted through the county. I am not listed on the birth index at sfgenealogy CA birth index by the name I have always known (the name my aparents gave me). The PI I hired told me what my birth name was. Unfortunately, knowing that still hasn't helped me in my search.
