Just wondering if AA couples in Ohio are waiting very long for placements. I have friends looking to adopt here and wondered how long their wait might be.
We are not in OH, but are working with an OH agency. We used this agency for our last adoption and waited just weeks to be chosen. I have heard of some long waits with the agency lately, but have also heard that this may change since OH just legalized bmom expenses up to $3,000.

Just wondering if AA couples in Ohio are waiting very long for placements. I have friends looking to adopt here and wondered how long their wait might be.
We are an AA couple in OH. It took about 7 months fromthe time our homestudy was approved to the day we brought our son home. We were getting calls for "opportunities" about once/month; but it never worked out until we were chosen by our son's Birthmother. I can't say the timeframe is indicative of all AA couples, though. We wanted to adopt a baby boy and specifically stated we did not want to be contacted unless they knew for sure the baby was a boy. I would guess that lengthened our "wait". However, irregardless of how long the wait, the baby your friends are ultimately matched with and bring home will be the baby that is meant to be a member of their family. The wait is definitely worth it.
Hope this helps.
