I'm fairly new to the site and I would like to share with all of you a poem I wrote.
Julie
Birthmother’s Silent Grief
The sadness never allowed
The grief pushed aside
The dreams never realized
Our feelings denied
The “forgotten” never forgotten
The pain very real
But no one understanding
How we really do feel
All the shame that’s been felt
The secrets well hidden
The tears cried inside
Our forgiveness never forgiven
A hope dared to hope
A faith never learned
A Birthmother’s longing
For years not returned

Thank you for sharing your poem. It really sums up what a birthmom goes through, and as a birthmom, I could totally relate.
very well said most don't understand the pain a birth mother really truly feels and that this is a life long pain that never goes away.
from one-birthmother to another
EDIT: Seriously that's gotta be the best poem I have ever read. I had to read it a few times. Every word delivers very poignant and strong emotion.
