It has been recently shared that due to the significant increase in applicants to the Philippine adoption program they are making changes to limit and slow down the amount of Prospective adoptive parents waiting in their program.
They will be tightening restrictions on PAP requirements involving health status of parents. As well the following is being done as of May 1 st,
Files received from 1 May 2009 will only be accepted for children 3 years of age or older.
Օ Reason is they have such a huge back log of approved applications already for children 0-2, they want to work through that back log and see at least 50% of those matched before beginning to accept files for children in the 0-2 age range again.
I want to compliment the Inter-country adoption board in the Philippines as they are open and honest and not wanting to just keep taking in more and more applicants who then may have to wait a ridiculous amount of time. It seems to be a sign of the times as international adoption is becoming more and more difficult.
:woohoo:
