If it is already in process, then it is too late for a "regulation 7" request through the court--which from what I gather are almost never done, anyway. You should track the ICPC progress as if it gets hung up anywhere along the line, literally nobody cares because nobody at the next stop knows or cares that it is coming. You have to make them care by making them aware that they will hear from you until they see the thing and process it. :0 Here are the points you need to track: 1. Has the paperwork left the sending office cw's desk?2. Has the paperwork left the sending office cw's supervisor's desk?3. Has the paperwork left the sending office supervisor's director's desk?4. Has the paperwork reached the sending state's ICPC administrative office? The names, addresses, and phone numbers of the admins for each state are online.5. Has the paperwork left the state's ICPC administrative office?6. Has the paperwork reached your state's ICPC administrative office?7. Has the paperwork left your state's ICPC administrative office?8. Has the paperwork arrived at your local office director's desk?9. Supervisor's desk?10. Your cw's desk?Gone back through the chain? ETA: The paperwork moves by hardcopy via interoffice/interagency packet. Electronic mailing is not allowed. I called the "next stop" once per week until I got an affirmative, then called the next stop after that once per week until I got an affirmative. More than that, and I was afraid they would think I was nuts. Maybe they did, anyway. Then--hold your breath, as you still need the sending office to generate a request for services.... DIA parents get upset when this takes more than three days.... I'd like to know why/how those go through so quickly.

Our ICPC also took almost a year and we ended up having issues with that because the FP's also wanted to keep our niece there. Only way to help the process is get the state reps involved. They can be paper pushers (if you can call them that) but from how ours worked it didn't help much. It's all up to the workers and the stops along the way. Sometimes the paperwork gets stuck up or is missing something and it has to start all over again. It's very frustrating! Try finding out whom the ICPC coordinator is in your local office and work from there. They can track it down. There is also a list online of ICPC contacts. I'm not sure if it's in this website but check here for information: AAICPC | an :: APHSA :: Affiliate

Binny-- I'm pretty sure we're going thru the same "sending" state :) If you want to email me privately (canate@verizon.net) we can be ICPC buddies! For us, it took about 2wks for it to get from Sending state to my county which was super fast! But then my county decided that my adoption homestudy was goign to expire soon and is making me redo it :scream:!! So that's holding things up here. According to what I last read, federal law states that your own state only has 50days to get their part done (from the time that your state's ICPC office makes a referral )..
I got an email from the caseworker last night letting me know that he has emailed the sending state to see how it is coming along. Let's hope there is movement soon.
I want to be :airplane: with them flying home. I hate that this next visit will probably be another weekend with a good bye at the end.
Our state is faxing it back to them today!!!
I cant reach their SW.
I need him to say, "sure book their one way plane tickets"
We head there Saturday for a scheduled visit, it is far and we go by plane and there are a couple spots left for them if we act fast, but I cant reach him. I am praying he is just in a meeting and calls soon.:phone:

I have never experienced a process so long and disheartening. The receiving state has lost this little boys paperwork then it was found they did the home study we did all of our back ground checks (passed) then they said they had to send it to pa icpc to have it dictated. so we waited and waited almost 3 months they finally got it done. They sent it to Kansas who were complaining about pa taking too long and its been 2 weeks and i have heard nothing. And its almost Christmas.
