Hi,
The BM of my FD had TPR finalized in another state recently (3 kids). She has a case plan here because the TPR was not finalized when she had the baby (my FD). She didn't do anything the 1st 6 months except go to visits, but now she has a job. She does not have a drug problem, but does not have housing. Do you think now that the TPR is finalized that this will have an influence on her case plan here? She was found guilty of child abuse for those 3 kids. Would they really give this new baby to her if she finds a job and housing?
My understanding is each child gets their own unique case plan and if biomom follows thru on it she may possibly get the baby back. Maybe ask the SW the chances and see what he/she says?

It is possible the TPR can affect her case plan, it depends on all the details around the TPR. Was it voluntary or involuntary, what was the extent of the abuse, there are a lot of things that have to be looked at. However, since they already gave her a case plan, I would guess they have looked at all these issues and legally had to give her a case plan. TPR of children does not always effect the parents ability to keep future children.
Hi,
I am the OP. The mom was charged with child abuse, emotional abuse, and homelessness. I don't know the extent of the abuse, but her boyfriend was charged with injury to a child as well. She has had a job for 5 months, but no housing. She does attend therapy, but I don't know what the therapist will say in court as to her mental capacity to parent a child. GAL said that during visits she does not hold/feed the baby correctly, even after attending 10 parenting classes.
I know that it can go either way. It hurts me to think that this beautiful child would be RU and neglected in anyway!!

I pray this child is safe and that what is best for this child happens. Let us know how it goes.
