I always read this thread but never have posted. I always appreciate what everyone has to say.
With that being said my mom is in the hospital and is in so much pain. I try to make sure I don't cry when I am with her but its hard to see her in such pain.
I kick myself that I didn't get here sooner. But dad kept saying that she is okay. NOOOO....she is not.
Should next few days go well she will have surgery on Tuesday.....but I will miss my youngest sons birthday (he will be 5). I know he will be fine because he will be out the next week but will I.
I am so not making sense here but hope you understand.
Michelle

Thank you both!!! It is greatly appreciated!!!
Mom has her good moments but it is so hard to see her in such pain. Surgery can't come to soon. She is scheduled for Tuesday. Can't wait to hopefully see her pain free in a few weeks after surgery. Keeping fingers crossed.
The boys are doing great. Dh is doing great and my inlaws are also helping. I talk to the boys several times a day so it helps but boy I sure do miss them....including dh....lol
Thanks again!
Michelle
I'm sure you miss them. :grouphug:
I won't be able to check in for a few days, but I will when I get back. I'll continue to pray.
Michelle,
Sending prayers and warm thoughts to you and your family.
I know how hard it is to see a parent in pain...
Take care, ok?

Praying that all goes well for your mom tomorrow and during her recovery, the Lord be with you and your family.
Hang in there and I hope your mom is soon feeling better! It's so difficult to watch loved ones in pain and feeling helpless, so do use your support systems to help you!!
I thank you all!
Surgery didn't go how we had hoped. My mom has always been such an active person....but the future for her is questionable. So I appreciate your continued prayers.
Sincerely,
Michelle

Will continue to pray. Keep us updated so we can know what areas your family is struggling with. :wings:
Just to give you alittle update.....she had a double hip replacement(she was 35) 30 years ago. Hips don't last long when you snow ski, golf and lift heavy things thru the years. My mom is a very independent person and no one will tell her that she can't do something.
15 years ago she had a fall and broke a bone in her leg below the pin that had to do with her hip replacement. It was a long process to get that to heal. But things got better.
Well the last 5 years she got so bad she used a cane and was in constant pain (but then I don't know when she hasn't been in constant pain since I can remember).
Well, the one hip just gave out....my dad who travels alot world wide was not home and my sister and I live out of state..... She finally called my dad that there was a problem and he came home to take care of her.
Since then we thought it would be a simple procecure to replace her hip and then later the other. She developed an infection in her bones that will never go away but can be managed thru time but that means they had to remove her left hip and will never be able to replace it. My mom is such an active person....This is so devestating to us and she is just starting to understand herself.
It was good to see her this afternoon as herself versus the drug induced person she has been.....but non of us can ever understand the pain she is going thru.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. They are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Michelle
well, mom was just transfered to another hospital who can hopefully help her get better. As of Thursday she will not have any hips.....She is starting to understand that she will be in a wheel chair going forward. Man.....it is so hard....!!!!
Thank you for your prayers.....they are greatly appreciated.

It IS a difficult thing, to go from walking, even with great pain, to less pain but not being able to walk. That is a difficult transition and we'll be praying that God will comfort your whole family as you go through this.
I thank you all for your continued prayers!
Mom was transferred to KU Medical Hospital and underwent surgery on her right hip. She now has no hip joints because of infection. But shortly after her hip surgery she underwent emergency surgery for her colon. Man....She is one tough cookie. We almost lost her with that surgery.
She seems very out of it(not sure if it is medication or something else) and she is currently having a ct scan tonight. Dad will call us tonight to update us.
I just want her to be better!!! I know none of you have answers but just needed to express my frustration, hurt, sadness, anger and more.
Thank you for reading, prayers and support.
Sincerely,
Michelle
