Hi I am looking for my brother's birthmother. We have some information. He was born Shane Michael Fitzgerald at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas on January 29, 1972. Adoptive name, Shane Michael Patteson. He was taken from his mother as an infant due to a life threatening medical condition she did not seek medical care for. He was not returned to her. He was adopted through the State of Texas at the age of 2 in Wharton, Texas. We received conflicting stories. My mother says she viewed the original birth certificate and it had the mother's name listed as Jane Ellen Fitzgerald. The state told her she was a young teenager that did not get the medical care he needed because of religious beliefs. She was Jehovah Witness and would not allow the blood transfusion he needed. The information my brother received from the state in 1998 gave the name Jane Evelyn (no last name), her DOB as January 30, 1953. She was listed as a "GoGo Dancer" in Houston. I have found both a Jane Ellen Fitzgerald O'Bryant from the same area but she would not have been a teenager. She lives in Mesquite, Texas. I also found a Jane Evelyn Fitzgerald Hunter with the January 30th birthday. I. however am at a deadend because I can not find her current location. She has moved alot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My brothers name is Merrit, or Merritt, not exatct on spelling, altho our grandfathers middle name was spelled Merrit. He was born in Flint Michigan on 11-13-1958. adopted in Ohio around 1965-1967. Hi Sandy, I just started my search for my half-brother born on 4-21-1965 in Cincinnati to my mother, Lynn (Lynne) Effron. She gave him the name Michael but learned that he may have been given the name Christopher by his adoptive parents. I do not know where he is or if he knows he was adopted, but I just learned that he existed and would like to know if he wants to learn about his birth mother and two half-brothers. I do not want to intrude on his life if he does not want to know about anything or has never been told he was adopted. I would just like to know about him or just that he is happy and healthy. I have only this info DOB 2/14/1971, time 7:35 am, Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, Whittier Ca. I do not know my birth name, just the name my parents gave me after I was adopted. Hope this helps. Please message me if you find anything when possible. Thank you
