Hi, there is a new MOJ called Margarita Popova, have a look at Novinite.com - Sofia News Agency as they give good info. I spoke to our agency in Bulgaria to ask if she thought there may be changes as with most new governments. She said she was hopeful and had expectations that this government would continue with the improvements made by the previous MOJ. Ofcourse these are only hope and expectations.
Margarita Popova is a highly respected prosecutor and has been praised by the European Union for all her work . Remember now with August here nothing happens and from September the new government will need time to settle in so i am thinking that things will slow a little for a short time only. For those not aware August means that no court officals are permitted to work, so for example no mortages signed off etc. Lawyers are not allowed to do any court official work. This is the same system where i live. So lets all wish for a quick August i guess.

Kayse,
Any update on timelines for you - if I remember correctly you were registered early in 2008, right?
Yes, I was registered on March 13, 2008. I was told earlier this year to "hurry up and reapply to INS and get my docs in order b/c time was near". Now, with the adminstration out until September and new MOJ, it will probably take more time to ramp up. I will probably have to update my INS approval and homestudy again in the next few months.
I am discouraged and depressed. There are several girls pregnant at the office and thought I would have had a referral by now - at least be "moving in some direction" by now. It is at a standstill.
Hi Kayse, Try not to feel depressed and remember that as with all new governments they still keep general staff and court appointed judges. I have not read about the general staff changes if any and the laws they have mean they will still have to deal with the dossiers as normal in September. Maybe there will be fewer initially but for sure they will still carry on their work. In general staff who have August off always come back to work in September feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Kayse,
Hopefully things will start to pick up in September. We had submtited our dossier in march 2009 and our agency is still saying 18-24 months for a referral, so hopefully you are getting close!
