I am looking for birthmom in Phx, Ariz. Birthmom's name at time of birth Sophie Rodriguez age 21 yrs old. Sophie had a baby girl born on March 17, 1965. Sophie lived in Phx at the time of her pregancy with another sister. Her location at that time would of been in the area of 24th st and Roosevelt. My name at birth was only baby Rodriguez. I was placed in a foster home in Phx and my adoption was done thru at that time the County Welfare Dept which is now DES. I was adopted when I was 14mths to a couple by the name of Richard and Jean Marshall of Phx. My foster home was in Phx location 16th Polk. Home of Mabel and William or Bill Sukalle. I have a birth-aunt whom I have had contact that lives here in Williams's Ariz. If anyone has info or leads please contact me. Susan

Most adoptees, birth parents and siblings are not aware of the 1992 law in Arizona which allows the use of a C.I. - Confidential Intermediary to search for their family member post adoption. I am a C.I. for Arizona and certified by the Arizona Supreme Court to access upon request the sealed adoption records and view the original birth certificate. How the C.I. program works but you have to meet the criteria of the following to search:The adoptee is over the age of 21 years andadoptee was born in Arizona and the adoption was finalized in Arizona adoptee was born in Arizona and the adoption was finalized in another stateadoptee was born in another state or country and adoption was finalized in Arizona You are the birth mother or birth father where the birth took place in Arizona or the adoption was finalized in Arizona You are a sibling of a child born in Arizona or the adoption was finalized in Arizona and the adoptee is over the age of 21 years and you are over the age of 18 years. The adoptee’s birth parents are deceased and you are the grandparent you may search as long as the adoptee is over the age of 21 years and you can show proof that the birth parent(s) is deceased.
