Never, ever, ever, ever again attach your infants car seat to the shopping cart. Yesterday we were at the store and while I was standing right next the cart our baby's car seat flipped off the cart and landed face down on the floor. Praise God, he was not injured, I couldn't believe it, not a bump or scratch on him, God is good!
I am the most careful mommy, I have been told that I am too overprotective and that I worry too much. I have ten children and have been parenting for 30 years. I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined this could happen. I am so careful, I feel awful. When we took him the ER to be checked out (I was so scared) the doctor said this happens alot, I was shocked, I never knew. I came home and googled car seats and shopping carts and found warnings about never attaching your car seat to the shopping cart, and yet moms are doing it everyday, there are no warnings on the car seat(that I can see) and I have seen no warnings at the store. I still am in shock and dismay that this happened, it could have been tragic. Praise God for his protection for my son. I am telling everyone I know, NEVER attach your car seat to a shopping cart.
Thanks for posting this. And praise God that your son is ok. Wow, not even a scratch that is a miracle!!!

Wow I'm glad he's okay. Due to my son's heart defect, I've never put him in a shopping cart and am doubly glad now!
13 years ago when my son was an infant the car seats and carts were a perfect fit. However, now I have noticed with our DD that things just don't fit right anymore and the seat never seems attached. So I quit attaching the carseat to the cart several months ago. I am so glad your child was not hurt and I hope others will be careful.
