finalization by phone

We finalized over the phone while Cameron was in the PICU. We had to have a notary public with us. We were both sworn in and asked questions by our attorney and our son's GAL. I was asked to explain his heart defect and surgeries, our address, did we understand he had all of the same rights as a bio child, etc. We were also asked what advice we'd give to other people who might adopt a baby with special needs. All in all, I think it was under 20 minutes. The judge was very nice and it was such a relief to have it done!
