The BM of my 10 month baby girl has completed everything on her case plan and the next court date is late Sept. Her history worries me and I thing that my FD would be in danger if they were RU. BM was TPR'd for 3 kids in another state before she gave birth to my FD, but that alone does not seem to be enough to TPR her for my FD. Just this week the CW received a letter from the District Attorney in the other state saying that BM has an open case for 3 counts of Child Cruelty. This case has been open for 2 years, but they still haven't scheduled a court date. They do not plan on dropping the charges, but they are also not going to plan a court date anytime soon. Can this delay RU?
If she completed her case plan after these charges then it will not stop reunification. The way it is looked at is if they finish the case plan, they should have learned something and should not make the same mistakes. So short answer, no it should not stop reunification.

My FFD was reunified with her BM. The child cruelty charges had no affect! She has been with her mom for 3 months now and has already had complaints called in about neglect. It's an unfortunate situation and I pray for FFD everyday!!!
I Truly Feel For You... That Is The Worst Part Of Being A Fp... The Worry... I Have A 16 Month Old That Might Be Ru Soon And I Am Already Worrying About It Daily.
I still think about and pray for my FFD everyday. It's hard because I don't know how she is or if she's still with her mom. As FPs we have NO control over anything that happens to these children. I wish you the best of luck with your foster child.
