Hi. I recently discovered that I have a half sister that was adopted after birth in the Santa Maria area. Unfortunately I have very limited info. From what I know, she was born in the mid 60's, Caucasian, birth mother was a 'cute short blond girl', in her late teens. The birth fathers name was Jerry Brashear. He was in his late teens as well. The two were neighbors from what I understand. Or at least lived quite close to eachother. Jerry is my dad, but he is deceased. I am hoping the baby girls birth name was Brashear. I would love to find you! But I have no idea how... Any suggestions from anyone out there in the same situation would be much appreciated. Mahalo!

Tell us about your father. What did he look like, etc? Most of us adoptees only know non-identifying information like hair color, talents, height, religion and disposition. Religion can be helpful as many used faith based adoption agencies such as Catholic Charities, LDS Social Services, Lutheran Social Services, etc.

Hello. I am so sorry. This reply was nearly 3 years ago and I never addressed it. My dad was handsome and charming. He was blond with hazel-bluish eyes. He was around 6 foot tall, averge build. He was in the 4H club. Loved animals and even raised a steer in high school for the 4H program. His mom (Sunny) was one of the Avon ladies in Santa Maria. She was also a police woman...Meter maid.. He had 2 older brothers, Larry and Jim. His dad (Bud) worked out at Vendenburg as an aeronautics engineer with the space program. They lived in Santa Maria for a long time, and all went to high school there. Perhaps Junior High as well.
