I was recently asked to speak informally at a conference about being an adult adoptee that has overcome RAD. After I finished telling my story, I was approached by many out of the audience to tell more, share more, provide literature, etc.
It's appalling to me that there is so few resources within churches to help reach these children and the adoptive parents deal with the emotions, behaviors, etc. I have decided to start working on some literature to help with this, using my own story of "survival" and examples from others (with their permission of course)
I don't need stories of great healing, but just a real honest, brutal look at where you are in life, where have you struggled the most, what are situations that caused you to shut down the most and anything else you think would be relevant.
If you do not wish for your responses to be read by all, you can email me the information. Thank you in advance.
