What is the difference between OHI(other health impaired and LD(learning disabled)? Myson is catergorized as OHI. He has FAS and ADHD & is 14yo in 8th grade. At an unfinished IEP meeting, the school now wants to add LD to his category. Why? The services will NOT change? Why add the label? Schools here are notarious for embezzling money (don't ask) and such & somehow this has to be tied to funding I feel. HOpe I'm wrong but why else would they push to change his label? Doesn't make sense to me. Please shed some light if any of you know the reasoning behind this as I surely do not. We re meet up tomorrow afternoon. Need to make sure I'm doing what is right by my son. Thanks in advance for any input.

OHI covers other health problems that affect learning. Learning disabled is supposed to be kids with normal intelligence who for some reason cannot learn. Here we have LD classrooms that are great for me OHI DD. I wouldn't hesitate to allow that catagory to be added. Its actually probably a more appropiate catagory that OHI.
