My husband and I met with an agency to learn more about infant adoption - we were discouraged about the fees so on Dec. 15, 2009 - we attended a foster to adopt orientation. During the orientation the social worker repeatedly stressed that the ultimate goal is reunification and that foster to adoption is a possibility but that they do not recommend this program for couples wanting to adopt an infant. Additionally, they do not recommend this program for couples who are not able to handle bonding with a child only to have the child reunify with their birthparents. So, now we are researching Ethiopian adoptions. Please let me know about your Ethiopian adoption experiences?
