Anyone had to appeal a denial before? My wife and I are in Mexico right now and there is an accusation that legitimate expenses paid to the birth mother are evidence of child buying. I read everywhere that USCIS is supposed to include information on how to appeal but they didn't (funny that). Luckily the internet exists. Did anyone use an immigration lawyer, or did you appeal it yourselves?

How lond did it take you to receive the denial from the USCIS after you submitted the I-600? How old is your little one? We are adopting from Monterrey- Mexico. What about you guys?

We're not going through Hague, that's an I-800. We're going through an orphan petition, which is an I-600.

It took them almost 3 weeks to get it out. He's 6 months today actually. We adopted from Guadalajara.

Oh, we are going through Hague and we got a referral on December and submitted our I-800 for approval this month but haven't heard back from USCIS yet.

Were you pre-Hague and grandfathered in? Otherwise, you have to use the I-800 process.

We've overturned the I-600 denial issued by USCIS. Now we need to deal with the Department of State in Juarez.

Wow! USCIS is good at not giving out any contact info. I hope you can get this straightened out and get home with your little one.
