I just posted on the Adult Adoptees forum, and figured I'd pop over here as well. Haven't been here since June of 2008, but I am back and considering another attempt at locating biological family.
I was born on July 25, 1984 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Relinquished to Child and Family Services [now ARISE] on July 28, 1984 & placed with adoptive parents.
Received non-ID in 2003 and reopened case with NYS Dept. of Health Reunion Registry that same year.
Biological mother was either 23 or 24 at my time of birth and traveled to Syracuse to give birth - I assume from a neighboring county or town. Was a college grad employed as a respiratory therapist. Was 5'2" with dark curly hair, olive complexion, 130 pounds, Italian and German descent [we essentially look identical, or I imagine that we would as this describes me to a T]. Had a 14-year old brother. Both of her parents were living. Biological father was unknown age and had once worked at the same high-tech company as biological mother; they apparently dated "casually" for less than two years and he was not informed of her pregnancy as they had already parted ways wen she found out. He was 5'11" and the rest of his physical is unknown. Biological mother requested Catholic adoptive parents.
That's all the information that I have. I am most interested in somehow obtaining my full biological medical history, especially as I had a fibroadenoma removed from my right breast exactly two months ago - as a 25-year old woman, that's a scary, scary situation and it made me more determined than ever before to secure my health records [I do know that I have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke]. I am also very interested in contacting my biological father and biological siblings, if any [I am an only child].

Thanks, I am a member of that Yahoo group you suggested. I actually do not check it often as they send quite a lot of emails, and much of the content was geared towards adoptees from NYC and Downstate NY, but perhaps I'll make a greater effort to read them.
