Second question for any of the individuals who have completed adoptions in Poland: How much did you spend on rent while you were staying in Poland? I know this varies considerably based on region, and I know people have had all sorts of living arrangements, from staying at the orphanage/foster familys house for a period of time, renting an apartment from an agency, staying at a hotel or renting an apartment, etc etc., but nonetheless, I am curious, if anyone is willing to share this information. Thanks!!

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment last august for 2 weeks in Krakow and then a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 weeks in Warsaw in August and September. I would say it averaged about 70-75 a night - give or take. We were able to use a credit card. Our apartments were not luxurious, but were fine. In Krakow, it was a VERY high season, so we were happy with the rate. Although the apartment was small and pretty basic. Our Warsaw apartment was better, but was a bit of a walk to most parks and a couple miles from old town.

We paid $1300 for a week in Krakow and $1000 for a week in Warsaw in the fall of 2007 for our apartments. While it was a hefty cost, being a family of 6, if we stayed in a hotel, we would have had to get two rooms. At that cost, it was better to get an apartment and have a kitchen, different rooms to have naps, a washing machine, etc.The apartment we had for 6 weeks in Wroclaw was privately owned and found through a friend of a friend of my mother in law, so the fees were very different than the norm.
We were in Poland in the off season (February-March). We stayed in Warsaw for just over 4 weeks at a rate of approximately $550 per week in 2009 (in a two bedroom apartment). We also stayed for two weeks in northern Poland for about $700 week (in a one bedroom apartment). We also had a few nights stay at hotels before and after our bonding period - that was roughly $125/night. I hope that helps!~sarahbased on a true story...
We were in Poland over the holidays Dec 2007-Feb 2008. In our son's region we were at the only hotel, we paid about $110 a night for 3 weeks, for a 2 room suite. Not luxury, but totally fine.
In Warsaw we paid about $80 a night for a large apartment with kitchen, washing machine, and internet, very near to Old Town We were there just about 5 weeks. It was very easy to get around from our location.
We are renting an apartment in Warsaw that we found through the help of someone on this forum. It works out to be about $85 daily. We like the idea of sharing time together in a home like setting as opposed to a hotel. Juggling the finances are challenging but in the end it's all worth it. We leave next month to start this fantastic journey.
PM me if you have any specific qustions I can help with. Good luck!

Thanks all, it is interesting to see that everyone paid relatively the same price, and it is of course, what our agency said to anticipate and what we have been planning for. I am sure a few extra $ are worth it to have small luxuries like a washer, internet, etc. Yankeegal, congratulations on your upcoming trip!!
