OT: Census "race" question

Devora - thank you for such a well-thought out reply. I always learn something from you! I'm an educator and posed a similar question to our DPI, because the way that all students and staff self-identify is changing on the student registration forms. They feel that American Indian includes more than just the US...also includes Central and South America. For what that's worth... Thank you for this thread, I came here looking for an answer to this exact question!!!!!!
