Hi, I am just wondering who "out there" is waiting, and how about also how long you have been waiting for?
We have our USCIS fingerprints Monday, so hopefully in a month we will begin the official wait, I just was interested to know who I will be joining!
Sorry Mrs C. I'm not waiting. However I was there for a LONG time, and it's hard . . . but it will end.
I just put up a 'before' and 'after' post yesterday here if you're interested. When we were waiting it really helped me to see that parents survive the wait, and children really do come home.
Blessings on your journey!

Hi, we have been waiting for 6 months. We actually did our fingerprints after our dossier had been in Poland for a while. Not sure why we waited, except I wanted to minimize the chance of having to get an extension down the road.
We sent our dossier to Poland in September, and they officially put us in the system then. We had our fingerprints done at the end of January and got our approval about a week later.
It's been a year since we started the process, so we are really feeling ready to get a referral, but I know it could take another six months or longer.
But waiting has become what our lives our like now, and we're used to. It's nice to know the tax credit was extended, so we are not as anxious to finish this year. When the time comes it will be the right time.

Lastpaige,
I love the photos of your sons- for those of us still anticipating that long "journey" even beginning, is it great to see two happy smiling boys! They sure are cute!
Hello
We are adopting from Poland and are in the process of gathering documents for the Dossier, but almost finished. I saw a response that it took 4 months from the time Poland got the paperwork to get a response? How long approximtaely do you think it will take from the time the papers are filed in Poland to the first trip taken to Poland? Is everyone anticipating 3 trips to Poland? Is anyone nervous about this like I am ? We do not have children and this will be our first child.

Hi! Congratulations on getting started! Wait times can vary. 4 months is probably on the shorter side, though it has happened that quickly for a few people.
Our dossier has been there for 7 months. Our agency told us to expect at least 10 - 12 based on what we have in the homestudy.
Wait times can depend on ages, how many, and what kinds of special needs you are prepared for (and sometimes the reason seem completely unknown to be honest). Sometimes I'll wonder why someone got their referral quickly, and then I'll remind myself that I don't know what their homestudy and dossier says.
We've just had to tell ourselves, that when it happens it will be the right time.
We are anticipating either one or two trips to Poland. I'm thinking it will likely be two.
Hello,
My wife and I have been waiting about 7 months. We are going for Silblings and have already seen some referrals, although one was for a single child and the other was for 3 children. (we were tempted, but realized that would be just to much for a couple who doesn't have kids and both parents working.)
We have been told it would be two trips, one for about a week and the other for about 6 weeks.
I am joining your ranks! Tonight we mailed out our initial application. We are going to be updating our domestic homestudy and turning it into a Poland- and Hague-compliant one, which shouldn't take too long.
We have no kids (2 dogs, though), and are hoping for one child or two sibs, either sex, up to age 5. We would consider a sibling pair if one sib were up to 7 if the other were under 5. We are open to some special needs, and are trying to educate ourselves on the sort of needs to expect and on getting an IA dr lined up.
Any updates?
We just received our agency agreement and are hopeful to be quickly on our way to the home study stage. Our agency says to expect a year for the process. I hope it goes by quickly!
